Windows installer is not correctly installed

Vista home premium and I can't download the AVG 8.0. error 800736b1 Is there
somewhere a download for an installer file? I can't find it. Thanks.

The AVG 8.0 download IS its installer file.

Try using Clean Boot mode and see if you can download AVG 8.0 to your
desktop. Then run the installer. Please advise of the result.

Your question is a little unclear. In the subject line you talk about
Windows Installer not be correctly installed but in the text you talk about
a problem downloading AVG 8.0. How did you determine that Windows Installer
in not correctly installed? (The error message you give suggests an
unregistered dll file.)
