Hello, One of my customers is trying to re-install a
drawing program. The exe-file to be installed is on a
CD-rom. When clicking the install button, she get a Windows
Installer error like "you are trying to install an
application from a network location which is not available".
Well, she isn't trying to install it from a network
location, because it's on the CD-rom.
How can we fix that? She is using WindowsXP.

Thanks for any help!

A "network location" can also mean a location which Windows Installer cannot
find or access. You need to insert the CD-ROM into your drive, then in the
Windows Installer dialog, click on "Browse" and find the appropriate .msi
file on the CD, then click OK.

Another way to do it is, if the file is a .exe file (this also works with
..msi files), simply double-click the file itself on the CD-ROM, and program
maintenance should be launched.
