I don't know what the problem is, but everytime I open Microsoft Word, the
Windows Installer starts up ... and it
says "Installing Microsoft Word Feature" .. then it goes to a box that says:

"The feature that you are trying to use is on a CD-ROM ... Insert the
'Microsoft Word 2002'disk and
click OK".

So, I have to re-install Word or if I click cancel, I get an error message
that says:

"Error 1706. Setup cannot find the required files ... Then
it says "Microsoft Word has not been installed for the current user. Please
run setup to install the application".

This happens EVERY time I try to use Word. Someone turned me on to a file
that completely deleted everything related to Word and then had me
completely re-install it, but that didn't work either.

Any suggestions ... I find myself not using Word when
I would like to just because all this is such a pain in the ...

Thanks ...

I tried that ... it doesn't work.

Run the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility.

Hi Michael,

Can you be more specific on the steps you took with
the installer cleaup utility?

When you're asked for a Word or Office CD be sure that
the name in the 'use feature from' box is the same
as the one you're providing.
