I recently wanted to reformat my hard drive. After doing
partitioning and formating Windows started installing. It
went through until "Installation completing". This is
where it stops. The new topics information on the right
continues, but the installation does nothing else. It
stops. I tried it a couple times, and I even let it sit
an hour after it said "Installation completing". What do
I do?

Hi,

I had this happen with Windows 98 a few years ago. The
installation would literally stop at 99% and never go
further. My problem turned out to be some packing glue
was stuck to the data side of the CD and it was brand new
from the box.

My suggestion would be to check the CD for any dirt or
scratches (and maybe packing glue, lol). If it's new,
return it. If this cd has been open for a while,
carefully clean it.

Hope this helps,
Lynn
