Windows In Recycle Bin

I just went to empty my recycle bin and got the message "Are you sure you
want to delete Windows?" I checked my recycle been folder and nothing
appears in the folder. I suspect there is something in the recycle bin
because the Empty Recycle Bin is not Ghosted out (like it is when it is
empty). This is really scaring me.

I ran AVG and it did not detect any virus but maybe it's something AVG can't
detect. Anyone have any ideas on what I should do. I'm definitely not
emptying my recycle bin until I figure out what is going on. May have to
reset the 7 day auto empty function.

Any help will be appreciated. Thanks,

It is not that serious a problem as you may fear it to be. Try right
clicking on the Recycle Bin desktop icon, select "Properties"|Drive "c",
close. If that does not fix it, follow these steps:
Open a command window and close any other programs that are running.
Open Task Manager by typing ctrl-alt-del, Processes, select the process
"explorer.exe" and end it but don't close the Task Manager window.
Go to the open command window and type this : rd /s /q c:\Recycler. Exit
from the command window by typing "exit".
Return to the Task Manager window, select "Applications", in the box type
"Explorer"|<OK> . If your desktop is fixed restart Windows.

Finally a third way which sometimes works is to go to My Computer, select
drive c:, Properties|Disk Cleanup, check the box to empty the Recycle Bin|OK
and restart Windows.
