HI All,

In my laptop Windows Image Acquisition service is not getting started. While trying to start this service I am getting the status as Starting, but it not not changing to started.

Please let me know how can I rectify the issue.

I am using Windows XP Professional SP2.

Thanks in advance.

Hareesh,
If it used to start, but now doesn't, then something must have changed - have you added or removed anything?
Let the Service time out, if it cannot be started - something should get logged to your System Event Log.
This will give us a clue as to what is actually wrong. ZIP up the EVT file and attach it here - Shout if you would like further assistance.

Thanks.

Hi,

From the begining this is not gettig started. Always it will show me a status Starting. I am attaching event log along with this replay.

Thanks,

Hareesh,
Your log file is corrupt.
Can you please repeat the exercise (letting the Service timeout and fail to start); then upload the fresh EVT file.

Thanks.

Change the Windows Image Acquisition service (WIA) to 'automatic' and reboot, the default is manual ... what scanner/camera are you using?

To have a look ... go to Start/Run and type in ... sevices.msc ... scroll down till you find it.

I cannot read your event log ... try saving it as a log, or paste it in to notepad. :thumb:

Hareesh,

Don't worry about supplying the LOG or TXT file!
There is a Parallel device failing to start in the log - which could be relevant..
What devices are you connecting? Does the Service start if set to Automatic; as per above?
(Services.msc launches the Services console, same as using the Control Panel>Adminstrative Tools>Services.)
Have you installed any software/drivers which came with the product(s)?

Thanks.
