Windows Home Xp

We recently installed Windows Home Xp edition. Previously had Windows 98. Advised to install over Windows 98 by computer store. We also have NTL broadband.

Since installing the above - internet not working properly, i.e when we go into a particular website then select something from the home page of that web site, the computer just freezes and we have to ctrl alt del every time. The internet is working fine for emails but not for surfing the web.

Please advise.

PS We have since uninstalled Windows 98 could this have played a part in the problem. Would it be best if we just start from scratch with our computer and reinstall Window Xp again after removing all the programs.
 
You may need to contact your ISP to get the proper software for XP.

Are you using the same broadband software that you used with Win 98?
If so , remove it and try the connection wizard and XP's PPPoe. Jym
