Windows has shut down to prevent damage

I have done a full reformat and have been trying to install a full version of
xp pro. during the copying files phase I get a message that Windows has shut
down to prevent damage to your computer. I have tried several times and get
the same thing. please help I can not figure out what is wrong for it had XP
on it prior!

You might have some problem with the cd drive, or the hard drive. I would
copy the i386 folder to the hard drive, and run setup from there.
You boot to dos floppy, run A:\smartdrv.exe, then ../i386/winnt.exe

I just tried to install the a OS again this message came up
Bad_Pool_Caller, with this at the bottom of the screen
*** Stop:> 0xoooooo2 (0xoooooo7,0x0000cd4,0x000A000D,0xE112E008)
I have no ideal can you help, please!
