Hi..

I've just recently began having problems with my XP Pro system. After leaving the system running overnight, I cannot seem to "wake" the system. The cursor moves on the screen. When I click the mouse or hit any keys, the login screen does not appear. I have to reboot the machine to get it going again. Any ideas

I have run antivirus, defrag, spyware removers, etc. All Power configs are correct. I'm stumped

Thanks
Spanky

Open your Device Manager, right-click on your mouse and
select Properties. Click on the Power Management tab and
check "Allow this device to bring the computer out of standby".

You can do the same for your keyboard and USB devices.

Hi Carey,

I do not have those options for the mouse and keyboard. As for the USB devs, they were already disallowed for computer turnoff to save power, and the boxes for allowing the device to bring the computer out of standby are greyed-out. Hmmm....

Best,

Have you installed the latest Windows XP drivers for your
video card?

Sure did. I've been looking around my dev mgr and noticed that "WinDriver" under non-pnp devs has the yellow warning exclamation on it. I looked under properties and cannot find the owner of it. I'll un and reinstall and see what happens.
