When someone refers to a Windows form applications, are they just
talking a plain o'l vanilla Windows application written in .NET?

Win Forms are windows app which use forms and .NET as you mentioned.

Hi Ralph,

They are reffering to applications that make use of the new windows forms
tech - part of .NET.
"Plain ol' vannila" windows application were created using mfc/vb etc.
Windows Forms differs from them substantially.
