Hello!
I'm feeling kinda stuck with a customer's recalcitrant MCE laptop.
The OS is Windows XP MCE Version 2002 SP2.
The following services (set as Automatic) do NOT automatically start and cannot
be started manually even while logged on as admin:
Windows Firewall
Security Center
System Event Notification
In each case, attempting to start the service produces "Error 1705: The
dependency service does not exist or has been marked for deletion."
Which made me notice that the Dependencies tab is missing from the property
sheet of all services. Yes, the tab is missing from ALL services, not just the
three listed above.
I've never seen a machine with missing Dependencies tabs, and as far as I can
tell from Googling, nobody else has either. I did find some folks with
Dependencies tabs that didn't work, but I suspect that would be a different
issue.
Any thoughts?
Thanks!
Frank
