windows firewall in vista

can anyone help me. i have skype on my laptop but vista firewall keeps
crashing the systym when i receive calls(blue screen). i have changed the
security settings to allow skype but it keeps reverting back to blocking the
proggramme. how can i get my preffered settings to remain on?

There is a discussion on this on the Skype forums. From a quick scan, it
does not appear that Skype is fully compatible, and much of the hardware it
uses, is not, which is probably what is causing your blue screen.

Thanks very much jesper, read all the comments on the skype board and it
seems that there are a few issues with skype and vista at the moment.
Hopefully all will be sorted soon.
 
It's kind of funny (strange funny I guess) that when I was running RC2, a
couple of devices worked fine, including my Logitech Orbit camera (non-MP).
Skype also worked fine and I used it several times to talk to my son who was
in China on business. Then I get the public verson of Ultimate installed
and registered and then things that were working stop. I guess MS removed a
few things between RC2 and the public release. I'm not complaining mind
you, just making an observation. BTW, I haven't tried Skype since I
installed the official Ultimate.
