windows files rewritten

Hello, What do I do when Windows XP is asking to put a media to recover
windows files that were rewritten? I have a HP computer that has a hidden
partition which contains windows? I can't do PC Angel (F10) it want a cd??

File protection in xp is used in cmd prompt by typing:Sfc /Scannow
However it runs off a retail cd of xp,you might try the cmd and install youre
oem cd,but i doubt it will work...Try hp web site on how to run windows file
protection...Knowing junk hp,i doubt you'll get a positive answer.

My HP Pavilion has a system recovery partition & the command sfc /scannow
works fine.
