Windows File Protection

I am receiving this error and do not know what to do. I seem to have misplaced my start up version disk. Can you help me. See error message below:
"Files that are required for Windows to run properly have been replaced by unauthorized versions. To maintain system stability, Windows must restor the original versions of these files." Ther it state to "Insert Windows XP Home Edition CD-ROM now." I can not locate this CD. Please help me quickly.
 
If you don't have the cd and you got one when the machine
was purchased, you need to find it! If you bought a
Dell, Gateway, HP or other "off the shelf" unit, you
should have a restore disk with the os on it. Got a
manual? Should explain procedure to "repair".
