Error driving me crazy

whenever I switch my computer on an error message stays
on my screen which reads:

Files that are required for windows to run properly have
been replaced by unrecognized versions. To maintain
system stability windows must restore the original
versions of the files.

I have lost my installation disk i was wondering if
anyone could help me

If you have system restore enabled... now is the chance to use it.

Please also note to scan your system for a virus incause it is the factor that it is trying to modify your windows files.
It could be another possibility that another software you are using causing the problem.

If you do not have windows xp cd and has system restore disabled, I do not really have other suggestions other than try buying another copy
