Receive the following error message:
files that are required for Windows to run properly have
been replaced by unrecognized versions. To maintain system
stability, Windows must restore the original versions of
these files.
Insert your Windows 2000 Server CD ROM (I'm running
Professional if that matters)
Upon inserting the disc the error message disappears. Once
the disc is removed again I receive the same error.
Disc drive is functioning properly
Event log indicates the following:
Source: Windows File Protection
Event: 6404
Typical Event detail: The protected system file
eventvwr.exe could not be restored to its original, valid
version. The file version of the bad file is 5.0.2174.1
The specific error code is 0x800b0100 [No signature was
present in the subject.
Any help would be much appreciated!
