I registered for the Windows Feedback Program a while ago back when I was
eligible to receive a free product from Microsoft. now just a few days ago I
got an email from them saying that I meet all of the requirements for
receiving the free product from them. now that I meet all of the
requirements to receive the free product, how long will it take to get it
from them?

How long is a piece of string? Why not ask them?

What feedback program?
What free product?

This newsgroup is not regularly monitored by Microsoft employees, so you
need to give us some details.

Have you tried responding to the email for information? Are you positive
that this isn't a scam?

As soon as you complete the requirements, which is running it for 3 months.
They sent me the same, which is basically a status update letting you know
if you are meeting the requirements (sending data on a regular basis), or
not. It's basically a midpoint update, I guess.

This one: http://wfp.microsoft.com/

It opened and closed in a few hours the first time, then they opened it
again and it closed shortly after. It's gotten a lot of complaints from
people that say they don't want to be spied on by Microsoft, but that's what
the program is about. I have nothing to hide, so I signed up.

at least someone knows what i'm talking about. it said nothing about a
midpoint. its been a little less than three months so i guess it just may be
and besides i did not even have the utility installed on my notebook the
whole time...lol i was in the process of getting a new one. i had the
utility on my zd8000. then when i upgraded to a tx1000z tablet i never had
the utility on there. i was so disapinted in that notebook i returned it
after a few weeks and got my current tablet pc a tc4400. at least i put the
utility on this notebook after a while. i think i almost forgot about the
program when i got the tx1000z. it made me hate vista because of all of its
issues...lol

i tested the beta version of vista on my zd8000 back when i had that
notebook and the beta versions seemed to have worked better. hopefully Vista
service pack 1 will fix many issues that i ran into while using vista on the
tx1000z. either that or i'm stcking with XP untill i'm forced to upgrade.
either that or i will do a dual boot.

when did you sign up? do you know why it kept opening and closing? and i
guess you did not get your product yet?

As long as the utility sends back data at regular intervals you should be
fine. Not sure when those are, though. But, good news is that it also runs
on Windows XP.

i'm running it from XP at the moment. what about you?
i'm just wondering, but what product did you ask for when you registered for
the program.

I asked for vista as well, but for my current PC. my current laptop came
with XP tablet PC edition and vista business (x86) edition. my laptop also
works with Windows 2000. I just was hoping to get vista ultimate (x64) for
free. I just hope they were not lying about the offer. it would be nice to
have vista ultimate for when i finally want to upgrade or just want to use
it in a dual boot for the heck of it.

Every time I've signed up for an offer from Microsoft, I've gotten it. I've
watched webcasts for Visual Studio 2005 (which was well worth it!), and got
a free copy of Vista Business & Office 2007 last year, too.

I signed up for other offers from Microsoft from Microsoft as well and I did
get the products from them. I got office 2007 from them, but I never did
anything for vista business. I did something for another product but I
already forgot what it was since it was a few years ago. even though that I
am getting vista ultimate from Microsoft, I rather get vista enterprise from
them. but only because of certain business features that are in that version
of the operating system that are not in ultimate edition. to bad I can not
get it in single license form. my OEM provider did offer it in single
license form at one point, but only for a few weeks, but now its only
available in bulk order. my laptop was also orderable with that edition, but
I got it with XP instead since at the time none of my applications worked
with vista. I'll accept ultimate edition though like the windows feedback
program is offering.

well, thanks but i already looked at that page a while back from when i
emailed them and they sent me a copy of the FAQ via email. however, i may
look at it again.

besides when they contacted me saying that i met all the requirements
qualifying me to receive my free product, the email showed my most recent
street address. the nice thing was that the email also came to my most
recent email address.

if that is all up to date, what other contact info can be updated (if
possible)?

and thanks again for that information. hopefully someone can answer that
thing i was asking earlier.

I was reading this page and it said that if you were participating in the
program it would send you an email for an entry in the sweepstakes. how come
I have not gotten an entry for the sweepstakes yet? is there a reason for
why I have not gotten an entry by email yet? I am enrolled in the
program....

You need to contact the folks running the program with questions such as
this, we really can't give any answers here. Sorry!

Steven, as others have said, your best (and perhaps only) course of
action is to contact whoever it is that is running the program:
