I have used Explorer on numerous occasions to transfer
documents from my hard drive to a floppy and vice versa.
The last time I tried doing this it did not work and I
got the message "The target cannot handle this type of
document" I tried again with an assortment of files and
also I tried transfering among folders on my hard drive
and got the same result. Can anybody assist.
Thanks,
Bernie Hart

This is a windows problem - not Word - try a newsgroups dedicated to your
operating system.

You might want to look at open office (www.openoffice.org) It reads
and writes office file formats and you are a lot more likely to get
friendly help without out pompous statements from Micro$oft Most
valueable players telling you to go away it is an operating system
issue. DUH!!! Considering that Internet explorer is threaded
through almost everything else on the box everything has 'OS' issues.

Great assistance MR. MVP guy....

This is a newsgroup relating to Word problems and doc management in Word.
The user's question concerns a Windows filing problem. Open Office will not
help correct this Windows problem. The places to ask questions about Windows
issues are the Windows newsgroups (of which there are several). Here the
expertise is in Word. This question has nothing to do with Word. So if you
have nothing useful to add to the discussion - go away.
