I'm not impressed with the new Windows Explorer that is on Vista. However,
if there is a way to get rid of the Favorites, that is displayed on the
right side with the folders, that would help me. I do not find this useful
and would rather get rid of the favoites if possible.

Thanks

You mean, the LEFT side (via the little star)? If you'd like the original
style, click TOOLS on the right side of the screen, then click (check) "Menu
Bar".

But you have to do this all the time. When you launch it, the Favorites
will show again. Plus you can't hide it completely.

Hmm. I'm not sure if I did, how I did, or when I did it-
but my Folders bar stays all the way at the top, even after
I close Windows Explorer and open it back up. Actually,
my Favorite Links is empty. My Favorite Links folder has
stuff in it, but they don't show in the Favorite Links column.
This has happened to me in every build that I have tried.
I can drag a folder to the Favorite Links column, nothing.
However, if I open up Favorite Links folder, it shows it's there.

When I click the Folders bar, it goes all the way to the top,
and stays there. Unless, I click it again and it shows an empty
Favorite Links column.

Don't know what to make of it.

My mistake, I meant to say left side.
No where on my Windows Explorer is there a Tools | Menu

I did see, Organize | Menu Bar which I unchecked.
This allows me to drag the folder up all the way and hide the favorites, but
it gets rid of the traditonal File Menu too. I guess that is okay as long
as it stays that way everytime I envoke the explorer.
