In XP I copied my XNews folder to a second hard drive. It took probably
about 15 seconds tops.
Then I hot swapped my main drive to this one with Vista on it.
It took 20 minutes to copy that folder back in Vista!
The progress bar was erratic. It would sit still for a long time and then
shoot across a ways, then stop again. At times it said I had 22 hours
remaining, then 55 seconds, etc.
Everything I DO in Windows Explorer creeps. It takes forever to expand a
drive for instance.
My "rating" is 1. Broken down memory is the lowest at 1.6. The rest are
in the 2's and 3's. I have a gigabytpe of Crucial PC3200 DDR memory. I
have a Pentium 4 2.6Gb processor. Surely that should be enough to run
Vista?
