Before I delete anything, I'm somewhat confused when looking in windows
explorer in my local disk C drive. Appearing are duplicate folders and sub
folders of everything on the C drive and although it seems obvious that
they've been reproduced (I think by a backup I did on some backup software
that I sampled and have since deleted), I'm not sure if what I'm looking at
is safe to delete. Some of the titles are in bright blue while others are in
typical black print. Can someone point my retarded brain in the right
direction? Thank you.

Items in blue are compressed.
Items in black are not compressed.

No idea what to tell you on the duplicates since no paths were given.

Aside: Explorer will show several different representations of My Documents
but they all go to the same single folder. Many people mistake these
representations as multiples but they are not.
