Windows Explorer

I rebuilt my computer with new Hard Drive and formatted
with Windows 2000 Pro and installed Explorer 6.0 with
Service Pack 1 and 128 bit encryption. However, when I
check the Help Tab about Internet Explorer it shows
Explorer 5.50. I have tried to download from a CD and
from Microsoft the 6.0 update and SP 1 and it always comes
back to tell me that this version is already installed.
However, when I go back and check the Help Tab it still
shows Explorer 5.50 and when I check for updates from
Microsoft it always shows me Service Pack 1 is available
for upgrade. How do I correc this problem??????????
