Way back in Win 911 you could get file manager to remember
the view settings by double clicking the shutdown button
while holding a control key. Is there a way to get Win
2000 Explorer to do the same thing.

Ah there is not a Windows 911. Porsche has one. :-) Filemanager would be
3.11 from 8-9 years ago. Anyway back to the present. In Explorer or the
folder of choice, Click on Tools, Folder Options and set your preferences.
