Windows Explorer window behavior

I'm sure most of you customise how Windows Explorer looks
when you press 'WinKey-E'. Up until a few days ago when
windows forced me to do a System Restore I could
press 'WinKey-E' and Windows Explorer would pop up
maximised but since then whenever I push 'WinKey-E'
Windows Explorer loads up in a 640x480 window and I then
have to double-click the titlebar or the maximise button
to maximise the window, the exact same problem occurs
with Internet Explorer, this is gettting annoying, is
there any solution to this as the MS KB doesn't seem
provide an answer.

I have tried this solution which has worked for me in the
past but not now, I go into 'Tools' --> 'Folder Options' -
-> 'View Tab' and clicking 'Apply to All Folders'.
I do this after I have maximised the window and set it to
how I would like it to appear when I push 'WinKey-E'.
But as I said it's not doing it now, it's as if it's not
saving my customised settings.

.

I found a solution to the problem dating back about 1
year on these forums.

What you have to do is download the .reg file called
Increase Folder View Size Limit to 8000 at
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm, double-
click it, and then go and customise any Windows settings
that you want and it seems to be working.

Microsoft really should add this to their KB
