Hi,

I have an annoying problem. When i open windows explorer,
all top bars are missing, all i see are faint lines which
i cannot expand. Bars like: 'standard buttons'; 'address
bar'; 'links' are gone. Not sure why it happened, but i
reinstalled IE v6.1 to try to fix it, and it's still there.

One interesting note: when i click on any folder and
say 'open', i get the normal display will all the nav
bars. But not opening from
the 'start/programs/accessories/windows explorer'...

I wonder if it's a registry key that's messed up?

Mike.

Hi, Mike.

What happens if you press F11?

This should toggle Full Screen mode, which is not the same as Maximized,
which is not the same as a Normal window stretched to fill the screen.

RC,

OMG.. how did you know/do that?!?

OK.. i did F11, it gave me the full window view with all
the bars, but dis-arranged and locked. So i did
the 'unlock toolbars', re-arranged them, and closed the
windows explorer. Opened it again - it's back! and the
toolbars are there.

I wonder what messed it up... Could be my little brother
playing with the computer, instead of playing his games.

Thanks again!
Mike.

Hi, Mike.

The question comes up here several times a week.

It's very easy to do unintentionally. But, if you want to blame little
brother... ;^}
