My listings in Windows Explorer is constantly in an order other than Alpha.
Even if I change the View to detailed, and sort again by Name, or even sort
by Modified, when I open the Windows Explorer again, the files and folders
are in some other order and I have to keep puting them back into Alph order
to find the ones I'm looking for. Is there a place to set Windows
Explorer's sort order so it doesn't keep changing? Thanks for any help.

SkyLabAstro,

Open the folder. View > Arrange Icons by > Name.
[The settings are retained for me]

In you case: If the views are reset everytime, open a folder > Tools > Folder Options > View > Reset All Folders:
Again, customize the views and close the window.
