windows explorer size (bug?)

every new explorer (not internet explorer, just regular
explorer) window i open seems to be 800x600 in size.
unacceptably large for me.

although i can quickly resize each individual window to
an appropriate size, every new folder i open defaults to
being 800x600. resizing each of the 10,000+ folders i
manage would be an extremely labourous task.

in windows 2000, i could resize one window, click 'apply
to all folders' in folder options, and the default would
be changed. for some reason, this behavior in windows xp
has been altered.

although getting windows 2000's behavior back would be
nice, i'd settle for being able to use a fixed size for
all new explorer windows that was not so unacceptably
large.

how can this be done in windows xp? where is the default
explorer window size stored?

Hello,

Open Windows Explorer and set it the size you want. Then go to Tools/ Folder
Options/View tab... there's the 'Apply to all folders' button.

this was a working solution in windows 2000. it no
longer seems to work in windows xp.

either there's a bug that's causing it to not work, or it
was removed..

does the window size you set this way apply to all
windows for you, in windows xp?
