Hello all. I am a computer technician and i have a small
problem. At my place of work the network is set up as such
that when a student logs in and then back out, their
profile remains on the machine. I am not in network
support and can not change this. From my point of view
when the computer/s begin to get slow, the profiles need
clearing out, simple right? only problem is the profiles
are huge and when deleting them from windows it takes a
long time. This is made worse by the fact that
periodically windows explorer tries to refresh the page
and file details of every file still left in every
profile. Doing this in the middle of the deletion process
slows the process down so significantly that it can take
up to half an hour for it to finish. I have a large amount
of computers to do and it may take forever. Is there any
way in which i can prevent windows explorer from
refreshing until finished or increasing the refresh
interval period. Any help would be most appreciated.
