I get a failure of program to start every time I turn on my computer. It has
to be restarted every time. The computer manufacture page has to be
"continue" clicked 2 or 3 times to get the operating system to work. IE
complains there is an error about installation. 2 gb memory speeded up
initialization but it still takes 4 or more minutes to get anything going.
Microsoft windows web sites are as slow as are my sites away from Windows. I
fail to understand why there needs to be 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 clicks on continue to
open a site such as USNews, then each feed has to be ok'd Is there any way
to get a bit of production going here... one continue click should be enough
on any site. Lloyd of Lincoln

Hi,

Disable addons from loading with Internet Explorer. Click tools/internet
options and on the programs tab click the button to manage addons. Set the
view for those that load with internet explorer, then click on each
non-microsoft item in turn and disable them. Apply/ok your way out and then
restart internet explorer. See if this helps.

Why does it take up to 2 mins. to populate a file list with Vista Windows
Explorer?
This is one of 100 issues I have with this OS. VISTA has thrown more bugs at
me than I can count. I am sick of "not responding" when I try and run
programs or open brower windows even. I have a bran new dual core HP PC on a
T1. How could this OS be released with so many issues. Simply Google "VISTA
SU%$S" and you will see I am not alone. How can I roll back to XP?

It DOESN’T take 2 min to populate a file list with VISTA.......

It may take 2 min to populate a file list with YOUR COMPUTER running
VISTA.......

This is NOT normal behavior that "everyone" is experiencing. It definitely
is a problem on your end. You say it’s a new HP. My Dad brought one of
those, and it comes with a TON of Symantec CRAP loaded on it, which slows
Vista down TREMENDOUSLY The first thing to do is remove all the extra crap
that’s running and you will see an instantaneous improvement. On my desktop
I never had the problem cause I installed clean, and Vista runs like a
champ. I cleaned up Dads HP Inspiron, and now it runs fast and smooth as
well.
