Windows Explorer not Shutting down

After uninstalling "Grokster" peer-2-peer shareware and
all it's baggage, I have found that Windows Explorer does
not kill properly during a system shutdown. During a
shutdown, I get a window that says that it isn't
responding. After I kill that, then I get another error
that says the connections tray is not responding. I am
running W2K sp4 with all the updates. McAfee is up to date
and running, and a scan does not pick up anything.

Has anyone seen this before?

P2P programs allow loads of spyware/malware/adware, etc. to be installed on
your computer. I would recommend using Spy Bot, Search and Destroy and Ad
Aware to get the critters off your machine.

Right, I have done that. as near as I can tell, I have
been cleansed. But somehow Explorer is either corrupted or
being drained by something else. Is there a tools for
repairing explorer.
