Windows Explorer Not Responding

When I right click on a file, the hour glass appears and
nothing happens for about 2 minutes.
If I disconnect my network cable and do the same thing -
it responds normally.
What is going on and how can I resolve it???
 
Where does your network cable go? LAN? Internet? Hub? Router?

It kinda sounds like right-click is looking for something on the network
related to some option that is a network resource and can't find it.
