Bob

I have encountered some problems with Windows Explorer.
I can no longer delete or rename files. When I go to the
toolbar and click on file or edit, the application hangs
and I have to do ctl, alt, del to cancel Explorer. If I
try to highlight a file and hit delete, it hangs. If I
try to right click on a file, it also hangs. What can I
do?

Bob, I too have this problem,(posted earlier today)
particularly the "right click" one. There's no spyware,
all XP updates are applied, up to date virus sigs are in
place...It's got me beat

Please -- let's press ahead with this. Multiple clean
scans and latest windows updates downloaded and
installed. You may have seen a previous post relating to
this saying "patched until blue in the face." That is
the case here, after cleaning all spyware, virus
cleaning, applying all patches. Any other ideas why
Windows Explorer might have fits on an updated, cleaned,
non-spywared computer?

Symptoms:
Windows Explorer -- inability to delete or rename folders
without hanging.
Desktop - unable to right-click on desktop icons without
hanging. (Note: Can right-click on desktop itself!)

Thank you thank you....

Roger D.
