Hi there, when I open windows explorer I usually get XP's crappy folders in
the left panel instead of a listing of directories. I would dearly like to
permanently drop the fancy folder for the useful directories. Can someone
help please?
Dave

Start | Run | Type: control folders | OK |
General tab | UNCheck: Show common tasks in folders

Show common tasks in folders
[[Specifies that hyperlinks to common folder tasks and other places on your
computer are displayed in folders. These links appear in the left pane of
the folder window.]]

To use Windows classic folders
Open Folder Options in Control Panel.
Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
Double-click Folder Options.
On the General tab, under Tasks , click Use Windows classic folders.

Also;
Taskbar|Properties|Start Menu, radio button for 'Classic Start menu'
Right-click an empty space on the desktop and click Properties. On the
Themes tab, select Windows Classic in the Theme box.
