Windows Installer pops up everytime I start a new application (click on a
link, open a new window, etc.). The Windows Installer window briefly
appears for a second or two indicating a new install is beginning and then
it closes. This just started happening...I don't know why and it is very
annoying. Is there a way to stop this from happening? Using XP Home & OE6.
Thanks in advance, Fran

Do you someitmes also get "Error 1606. Could not access network location <Common Administrative Tools>.All users\. " I had a similar issue and I am not sure if this issue also applies to Windows XP Home (I am running Windows XP Pro and I have never run Windows XP Home version so I may be off the mark). Check out Microsoft Knowledge Base Article - 315352 and see if it applies

When Windows Installer appears, what does it claim to be installing?

You should see something like "Please wait while Windows configures
#####" within the Windows Installer window. Telling us the product
name may help us to solve this problem.
