Windows Explorer error messages

When I click on Windows Explorer, Internet Explorer, My
Network Places, My Computer, My Documents and any Windows
folders on the desktop aren't working. It gives an error
message "Windows Explorer has encountered a problem and
needs to close. We are sorry . . .". But outlook express
and all other programs work properly including Microsoft
Office. Can someone help? Thank you.

Start by check the event log for errors. Open Control Panel, open
Administrative Tools, open Event Viewer, look for errors that correspond to
when the problem happened, double click the error, the information contained
within may give a clue as to the source of the issue.
