Hello... hope someone can help. I just reformatted my hard drive and
reinstalled Windows XP Pro SP2. After the first 20 of over 80 updates were
installed I started getting "Windows Explorer needs to shut down" error
message on boot up. In spite of that message, everything is working fine.
Installs aren't a problem, but this error message should not be happening and
I can't figure out why. I've tried repairing the installation, but that
didn't help. I have an AMD Athlon 3200 processor, 2 GB memory, 250 GB HD
(IDE). Please don't tell me I need to reformat again... there's got to be an
easier way.
By the way, is anyone else out there frustrated with MS lack of support and
lack of answers? But I digress... thanx in advance for any advice that can
help me.

Do a System Restore to a point before you installed the Updates.
Start>All Programs>Accessories>System Tools>System
Restore. Just follow the instructions.
