Windows Explorer Error Message

Whenever I try to open my network places on my HP
Pavillion 761N I get a windows explorer error message and
then the page closes. How can I correct this problem?

Since these files are windows system files, then try the

system file checker tool. Click start, run, and type in
this here; "sfc /scannow" with that space after the sfc.
It will ask for your XP CD to copy any needed files from,
so if you do not have one, try to borrow a XP CD to use
for this purpose. It runs as "windows file protection".
Look in the Event Viewer in Administrative tools in the
control panel, for error and warning messages.
