Windows Explorer double click choices

Using Windows Explorer with XT Professional, double clicking over the folder
icon in the left half of the screen opens the subdirectories and populates
the right half of the screen with the subdirectories and files. HOWEVER in
the past when I double clicked on a subdirectory icon in the right side of
the screen, it Would Open the subdirectory and show the files, NOW I get a
SEARCH mode instead of Open. Its probably very simple to change the default
order for the actions in the right button 'menu' but I am stumped. HELP !!

You've posted in a newsgroup for the Vista operating system. I assume
that when you write "XT Professional" you really mean "XP Professional"
so next time post in an XP newsgroup such as
microsoft.public.windowsxp.general.
