windows explorer crashes when right-clicking a file in my document

when in my documents, I right-click to say delete a file, and the menu comes
up, I select delete, and it crashes to the desktop. It also happens if I
highlight the file and attempt to delete it from the left pane menu, or from
the edit menu. I cannot delete a file!!
 
If this is a real recent occurrence, I would try doing a system restore to a
point in time before the problem started happening. If you don't know about
restoring the system, check your help file.
