Windows Explorer: confirm you want to move a folder?

Hi there,

In all versions of Windows I get quite annoyed when I (or collegues) use the
Windows Explorer, and accidentally "drag and drop" a folder to a new
location, most of the times not even noticing it. Quite often systems shut
down because folders aren't there where they are supposed to be.

Is there a way (eg. editing the registry) to have a Yes|No messagebox appear
when a folder is moved in this way?

Thanks,
Ray

LOL! You "accidentally" drag and drop a folder to a new location without
noticing it?

If you right-click on the object before dragging, then upon release you'll
get a dialog box asking what you want to do. On the other hand, I doubt this
will help you.

Doesn't help indeed.... especially when the mouse is getting old, people can
move it while the left button isn't completely "up" yet and drag & drop a
folder. Personally I think it's a disgrace you can't have a confim-box
popping up.... but I'm still hoping I haven't looked well and it is possible
after all.

Thanks,

Oh come on.... are you really suggesting to fix a *Microsoft* software flaw
(which it is is my humble opinion) with *Microsoft* hardware? Besides, it
also happens to me sometimes and I do have a (rather new) Microsoft mouse...
so it's not a solution.

But thanks anyway.
