Hi,

I recently noticed that the "Ext" (extensions) column was missing in Windows
Explorer/My Computer.
I sort directories with it all the time and as many know it does something
quite different than
sorting with the "Type" column ... which if you have a lot of programs is
not too useful IMHO.

How do I get the "Ext" column back? It is no longet listed in the
right-click drop-down selections for
columns. Actually most of the time I use PowerDesk but it gets it's
information for what is available
from WindowsXP.

Thanks for any help,

Bill Mudd

Not sure what you're trying to do, as it creates potential problems when
renaming files.

In Win Explorer, have you been to Tools/Folder Options/View & made sure the
'Hide extensions for known file types' is unchecked?

Hi John,

My mistake. I guess Win Explorer never has had an "Ext" column.
I have PowerDesk Pro ... have used it since Win95 days ... and
it has an "Ext" (extensions) column. Somehow it got removed but I found out
how to get it
back (a registry entry).

Bill
