Every time I click either on windows explorer, any folder on the desktop, or try open Control Panel, they do not open and instead of it my explorer.exe gets up to 100% CPU, making impssible to work. I can however open Task Manager and use it or shut down the computer. I can kill explorer.exe then in Task Manager (disappearing toolbar, etc.) and then when I start it again (from Task Manager) all is back to normal, unless I try again to open any application mentioned above, all related to explorer, and the whole thing starts again. Very enjoying, as I have to use other programs for files browsing………..and can not access Control Panel (is there an other way, by the way?) This happened roughly after I did these operations - defragmented C: drive, installed some "necessary" MS Windows patches, browsed the Internet….I have the newest, updated Norton Antivirus, always on, run the scan on the whole computer, no viruses, run Lavasoft Ad-aware removed all staff……………I don't know what to do. I don't want to reinstall windows, as this is a pain (done it already several times), but this time I have so much stuff I need, all updated to the latest versions, with all upgrades and patches, that it's almost impossible to reinstall it all. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!
