windows Explore hangs for 2-3mins when trying to attach or insert

Hi Experts,

I have a problem with windows 2000 explorer. Our computers are using windows
2000 Sp4 and I had complains from user saying that when they attach or insert
anything into microsoft office or lotus notes the browser opens and hangs for
3mins before allowing user to find the file on whichever location. We tried
to disconnect the network drives and even tried to access on local account
like local administrator but still got problem. Can anyone advise me how to
overcome this problem.

check the locations in the "Send to" folder for any errant items
