windows equivalent of "du -s *" from linux

on linux "du -s *" in a directory will list each directory in turn and
report its total usage.

Is there a windows equivalent or maybe a utility?

Not that I'm aware of. There are win32 ports of du available, you can
find them using Google. A tool I like that gives you a nice graphical
view is Sequoia View from http://www.win.tue.nl/sequoiaview/.
