I need the windows easy transfer companion {wetc} to do this.

I caught that after I posted.

I remember looking at that some time ago and reading that it wasn't
totally successful. Maybe it was worse than that and MS decided to
dump it.

Actually it has been temporarily shut down because of some incompatibilities
with SP1. No date has been announced when the updated beta will be
available.
