Maker on Windows Vista Ultimate to work. When I click "Start", and then
"Windows DVD Maker", this new little window comes up and it says, "Windows
Card Does Not Meet Minimum Requirements". I clicked "Learn More", but all its
telling me is that i have to download Direct X9 from Windows Vista drivers.
HOW DO I DO THAT? please help. I dying trying to figure this out! If this is
impossible to work, can anybody suggest another program that lets me Burn,
Copy, and Create DVD and CDs?

Hey Aquilegia, really, I appreciate the help. I clicked on the link you
suggested and well, i downloaded the program. It only took me like...35
seconds to download it, and while installing it, it didnt even take me half a
second. haha. so i thought that maybe it wasnt working properly. So i went on
the link again and I checked if that version that you suggested was
compatible with Microsoft Vista drivers. and...it wasnt. It only went up to
Windows XP SP1. But still, thanks for your help, i really appreciated it. =)

I'm sorry it wasn't for you SalBoy, I'm sure I read that it was compatible
with Vista on that page in the link so long as the Vista was a validated
install.

Sorry!

It's not very good if they don't give you back up copies of the pre-installed
software is it? Have you tried asking the people who sold you the computer?

All the best,

Aquilegia.

Hey Aquilegia,
Well, i found some freeware on Google, but they dont seem to be very
powerful, or very easy to use. Plus, on most of them, you cannot make a
"Quick Copy" of a disc, you must create the image you want to burn and then
burn it onto a blank disc. So it takes almost double the time.
I cannot reinstall Nero, because it came pre-installed on my computer when i
bought the PC. I dont have a disk to reinstall it. Hmm...50(pounds), over
here, i could get it for $70 CAD. Yeah, i'de rather not get it and download
another weaker program.
But thats okay, you've been a lot of help. I really appreciate it. Thank you
VERY much! =D

Hey,
It didnt work either. It took me 8+ hours to get DirectX 9 and it still
doesnt work. I think the problem is with the Video Card. I think it has to be
64+ bits. But since i had windows XP before, and it was compatible with 32
bit, it worked b4. i think i have to get a new video card or something...but.
If anybody could tell me a website or something that i can get a free full
version of any CD Writer program like "Nero StartSmart", i'd REALLY
appreciate it. because right now my cd writer is useless because it doesnt
have a program to work with. so please, help me get a CD Writer program
PLEASE!
THANKS!! =)

No, Im not doing well at all.
I haven't searched for a free burning utility yet, but all i usually find is
trial programs that aren't even the full version of the program that im
trying. hehe. So, do you suggest i search for a free utility on the Windows
Discussion Board...or do u think i should search the web?
I had Nero 7 before. But while i was downloading Windows Vista, it said i
had to delete Nero to install Ultimate. So i did...but now i regret even
buying Vista. hehe.
Wait...you said there is a burning facility WITHIN Vista???!!! No, i haven't
tried it! I thought the only burning program there would be is Windows DVD
Maker. So you're saying there is ANOTHER one???!!! Really? Please tell me
where i can find it! PLEASE!
Thank You SO Much! =)

Yeah, you're right. It isnt the best idea not giving any backup cd's. Well, i
got my computer from a store called Future Shop. Its a good store, but they
wont give me another copy of the software. Im sure of that, all they ever say
is, you have to buy a copy and well give you a 10% discount on it. And then,
they will ask me if i have a waranty or not, and apparently my waranty is
done. Im just going to have to try and get nero from a private store where
i'll save the tax, or i might be able to have a friend with the software. I
hope i get it.
Bye Bye
Thanks

Well, I tried to look for a burning program, and i found one. Its called
Ultimate cd/dvd burner. But after using Nero, i dont think i will enjoy using
any other program. Hehe. So...it ended up as me deleting it because:
1-I couldnt figure out how to use it.
2-I couldnt COPY disc to disc without using my hard drive.
Anyways, you mentioned a Burning Utility within Vista. I tried searching for
it, but i couldnt find anything. I dont even know what its called. hehe.
please, help me out AGAIN here. I really need a burning utility.
Thank You SO much Aquilegia!

Hello SalBoy,

I must admit to not using the facility within Vista, haven't had the need to
burn any stuff so far.

You could try doing a search on the web for what you require.
I went into Google and came up with these, they are all listed as Freeware
but I can't vouch for any of them having not tried them. A couple get high
popularity %ages. If you give any a whirl let me know how you get on.

Can you not reinstall the Nero 7? I may end up buying it if you're having
so much trouble, don't really want to cough up £50 or so for it.

Sorry I haven't been much help.

Aquilegia.

Oh dear, you're not doing very well are you?
That link I put was probably the preliminary download program that then
downloads the full program.

Have you tried doing a search for a free burning utility? I'm sure I've
read on the web somewhere that there are some out there.

My previous version of Nero doesn't work with Vista either, have you tried
the burning facility within Vista? I've yet to try it.

Regards,

Aquilegia.
