Hi, can some tell me how I can get rid of this message
every time I boot my PC it comes up.

It reads:- "windows desktop update has been removed from
this computer. Do you want to clean up your personalized
settings for thiss program? Yes / No." The No is the
default.

Thanks
Bill

Check your startup settings to find out what is causing this.
Applications that start with Windows can be found here:
- the WIN.INI, section [windows], entries "run=" and "load="
- the Registry keys
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunServices
- the folders
C:\DOCUMENTS AND SETTINGS\ALL USERS\START MENU\PROGRAMS\STARTUP
C:\DOCUMENTS AND SETTINGS\{username}\START MENU\PROGRAMS\STARTUP

XP" (http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=310560).
