At work I need to deploy Windows XP to about 400 clients. The company has a
mix of hardware (i.e. Dell, IBM) and doesn't have an enterprise license. The
license comes with each PC. When I attempt to make a Windows XP image from,
say, a Dell Windows XP disk, it will not accept an IBM key code. Is there a
solution to have a generic image that will accept any of the various license
key codes we have?

Thanks in advance
Phil

I am most certainly not an expert in the area of Windows licensing but my
guess would be the answer to your question is a firm no. Those copies of
the operating system are most likely OEM versions and tied to the machine
they were initially installed on. You may have to get set up to license 400
copies to your systems.

You may be able to use something like this:

Only with a Volume Licensing version would you be able to do this. Each
machine is deilvered with wn OEM version. Each OEM versions are unique to
the make/model that it was delivered with.
