I am having problems and have had for some time suffering from a windows
delayed write error with my XP box talking to my W2K3 server.

This is definately a networking issue and having replaced everything between
the two machines, I am convinced it is the NIC on one or other of the
machines.

I tried to follow the MS instructions to diagnose network issues but it
refers to running the Network Monitro at both ends.

I have installed a windows component that is called Network Monitor but the
options to configure TCP retransmit are not present and all I can find for
XP is the support tools that have a NETCAP capture driver only.

Can someone direct me to where I might find network monitor so that I can
diagnose the problem?

many thanks,

jON

Ok so you haven't replaced the NICs ?

Network Monitor is a packet sniffer. It won't let you to configure TCP
retransmit.
Sniffer is a very low level tools, probably it won't help you much.
Have you considered easier tools like Windows performance monitor (Perfmon)?
