I just installed WD and noticed that I have several Winsock Service Provider
entries for McAfee. I deleted this program over 3 years ago but still find
McAfee files scattered about. How can I delete or remove the Winsock Service
Provider entries showing up in WD?

Dave M....You Rock! I just ran the removal tool and checked in the WD
Software Explorer and all McAfee entries are gone! Thanks for helping me get
rid of this once and for all! Have a great weekend!

Along these lines, there is a great 3rd party tool which removes a large number of anti-malware applications--you choose whether to remove the installed version, or traces found in the registry of failed uninstalls.

This is a reputable tool--it'll ask you what you want done before making any changes to your system. Well worth trying if you believe traces of a previous anti-malware tool are still present on your system.
